Taken from my Dad's ski boat on Center Hill Lake in Tennessee. The first day of our trip was 85 with mid-summer thunderstorms. The second day it suddenly turned to autumn. The air became cool and crisp, the sky cold and clear, the trees colorful. I took a number of shots of the trees lining the lake, focusing on framing the few that started to turn. This one showed wisps of color, but not enough to be interesting. Desaturating, however, really brought out the texture. In photoshop, I further adjusted the individual color channels to accentuate that texture through contrast. The edges were burned a bit as well.
Shots like this make me miss film... the Hasselblad I used to carry around would have shown much more detail.
